LAWRENCE — For most of the afternoon, freshman Kylee Kopatich struggled to find her stroke. Shot after shot went up and clanked off the rim, until it mattered most.
With the game tied at 60, sophomore Lauren Aldridge found Kopatich at the top of the key where she knocked in her first 3-pointer. On the ensuing defensive possession, junior Caelynn Manning-Allen stripped the ball which led to an Aldridge layup at the other end, giving Kansas a five-point lead.
“Ultimately, defense leads to offense,” Aldridge said. “If you get stops on the defensive end, the offense will come.
