LAWRENCE — Coming out of the locker room at half of Sunday’s season-opening exhibition against Pittsburg State, the Kansas women’s basketball team had one thing in mind: Get the ball to sophomore Lauren Aldridge quick, and get it to her often.
Aldridge knocked in two 3s from the top of the key right out of the break to give KU its first double digit lead of the afternoon, finishing the game with 21 points en route to an 80-54 victory at Allen Fieldhouse.
Aldridge finished the game with going 7 for 14 from the field with two assists and two steals.
