DALLAS — Coach David Beaty has a Kansas tradition he wants to see end.
“We’re not taking down the goalposts for wins. We’re not going to do that for something we expect to do,” Beaty said at Big 12 media days Monday. “We expect to win, and we’ve got to learn how to win. That doesn’t mean you tear the goalposts down every time you win a game.”
During the 2014 season, KU fans tore down the goalposts after a victory over 2-7 Iowa State.
“Now, when we win a big ’un — a real big ’un — OK, I’m with you,” Beaty said.
