Former Kansas basketball coach Ted Owens was at home resting “in good spirits” Tuesday afternoon following an elective heart procedure at a Tulsa, Okla., hospital, Owens’ son said Tuesday night.
“Everything went really well today,” said Teddy Owens, the director of basketball operations at the University of Nebraska. “They will do a similar follow-up procedure next Tuesday. My sister (who is in medical profession) is over there. He’s recovering OK.”
There had been some concern Owens might have blocked arteries. He will learn more about the situation next week.
Owens, 87, compiled a 348-182 record in 19 seasons at KU.
