Marilynn Smith, a Kansas Athletics Hall of Famer and one of the 13 founders of the LPGA Tour, died Tuesday. She was 89.
Smith, who picked up an individual title for KU in 1949, later won 21 LPGA tournaments and two majors: the 1963 and 1964 Titleholders Championships in Augusta, Ga.
