LAWRENCE — Rob Likens has stopped looking at the stats.
The Kansas offensive coordinator says he did this last week, a step to try to focus on small improvements instead of depressing himself with larger problems.
He still couldn’t avoid the harsh numbers when a reporter told him Tuesday his team was barely averaging a yard per rush over his team’s last two games.
“It’s a vicious cycle,” Likens said. “Run game sets up everything. So if you have a hard time running the football, you rely on throwing the ball.”
The Jayhawks have had to lean heavily on the pass the past two weeks.
