LAWRENCE — Run out of its own home stadium, Saturday was the same old story for the supposedly new-look Kansas football program.
It remains to be seen whether the good vibes lingering from the program’s offseason were run out of town as well.
KU, three-point favorites in its clash with visiting Central Michigan, stumbled and staggered through nearly all facets of the matchup with the Chippewas, falling 45-27 at Memorial Stadium.
CMU quarterback Shane Morris eviscerated the KU defense to the tune of 467 yards and five touchdowns on 28-for-37 passing, while KU counterpart Peyton Bender battled inaccuracy in a 323-yard, two-interception day on 32-for-62 passing in his second game as a Jayhawk.
