Kansas linebacker Maciah Long was dismissed from the football team following an arrest on suspicion of aggravated assault with use of a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property without consent value less than $1,000 and possession of marijuana/THC, according to Douglas County jail logs.
Long, a 6-foot-2 sophomore from Houston, was being held without bond after being booked Sunday night, according to the logs. A three-star Rivals recruit out of high school, Long played both tight end and linebacker for KU last season, carrying it twice for one yard out of the Wildcat formation.
KU coach David Beaty announced Long’s dismissal from the program Monday morning.
