Zacchaeus McKinney — a 6-foot-5, 280-pound defensive tackle from Weatherford, Texas — verbally committed to the Kansas football team Sunday, according to JayhawkSlant.com.
McKinney, who visited KU this week, picked the Jayhawks over Oklahoma State, Houston and SMU. Ranked as Rivals’ 40th-best defensive tackle in the class of 2017, McKinney also took an unofficial visit to Oklahoma late last month.
“You can’t just look at wins and losses,” McKinney told JayhawkSlant of his commitment. “Sometimes you have to look past that and where a program is at. Winning doesn’t always show everything. I see the Kansas program is going in the right direction.
