KU football hires TCU offensive coordinator Doug Meacham

The Kansas football team has turned a familiar face into its newest assistant coach.

The Jayhawks on Thursday morning announced the hiring of Doug Meacham as the program’s new offensive coordinator. Meacham spent the previous seasons co-directing the TCU offense.

“I am thrilled to be adding someone of the caliber of Doug Meacham to our staff,” said third-year KU coach David Beaty, who called plays last season. “Doug is someone I have admired for quite some time for his creativity on the offensive side of the ball.”

In addition to his role as offensive coordinator, Meacham will also serve as wide receivers coach, replacing Jason Phillips, who took a job last week at Oregon State.
