ATHENS, Ohio — College football’s most shameful skid has continued into another calendar year.
The Kansas football team lost its 42nd consecutive true road contest Saturday, upended by MAC opponent Ohio, 42-30, at Peden Stadium, in a defeat that extended the rotten streak which began in 2009.
The Jayhawks (1-2) are now two road defeats away from tying the all-time mark for visiting team futility, set by Western (Colo.) State from 1926-36.
Though KU was an underdog Saturday, this represented perhaps the Jayhawks’ best shot at ending the streak this season, with Big 12 play beginning next week against West Virginia.
