LAWRENCE — Had the play gone any differently, David Beaty might not be standing here right now.
Here, of course, is at a lectern in Anderson Family Football Complex, fielding questions as the Kansas football coach ahead of the Jayhawks’ 7:30 p.m. Thursday game at Texas Tech in Lubbock.
The play? A game-winning touchdown pass in a Conference USA contest nearly six years ago that Beaty believes changed the course of his own career.
