KU football coach David Beaty gets raise, two-year contract extension

LAWRENCE

Kansas football coach David Beaty has been given a two-year contact extension, KU athletic director Sheahon Zenger announced Monday.

Beaty, who went 2-10 last season and is 2-22 in his two seasons with the Jayhawks, now is under contract through the 2021 season. He will receive $1.6 million in 2017 and $100,000 each subsequent year, according to KU’s release.

The coach just finished the second season of a five-year deal that was originally set to pay him $800,000 annually, not including incentives.

“This shows our appreciation for coach Beaty, his staff and our players,” Zenger said.
