AMES, Iowa — David Beaty is going back on his own formula.
Before the season, the Kansas coach talked about his recipe for staying close in games: KU would force turnovers, limit penalties and win special teams while forcing other teams to earn their victories.
So far, KU has shown improvement in all three areas. And it continues to not be nearly good enough — another example coming in Saturday’s 38-13 loss to Iowa State at Jack Trice Stadium.
“We’ve got to stop living off these little battles, winning these little battles,” Beaty said. “We need to continue to work forward on the name of the game, which is winning games.
