Guard Svi Mykhailiuk scored a career-high 23 points, pacing No. 1 seed Kansas in a 105-79 rout over 16th-seeded Austin Peay in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena.
Mykhailiuk, whose previous career best was 18 against Chaminade, made 9 of 11 shots, which included 4-for-5 three-point accuracy.
KU was barely challenged. The Jayhawks took a 48-28 halftime advantage and had no player log more than 27 minutes.
Perry Ellis was efficient inside, scoring 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting in 25 minutes. Landen Lucas added 16 points and eight rebounds in 14 minutes.
