LAWRENCE — The Kansas football team has dismissed defensive end Maciah Long following the sophomore’s weekend arrest.
Long, 19, was booked Sunday night on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property and possession of marijuana, according to Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jail logs.
KU coach David Beaty announced Long’s dismissal Tuesday morning through a news release.
A Houston native and former three-star prospect, Long played linebacker and tight end for the Jayhawks last season before converting to the defensive line.
