LAWRENCE — With 12:29 to play in the first quarter and Memphis starting its second drive from its own 23-yard line, junior Paxton Lynch dropped back in the pocket and hurled an incomplete pass to senior tight end Alan Cross. Lynch was hurried on the play by KU sophomore Joe Dineen. Two plays later, Lynch found himself on the ground following a sack by senior Ben Goodman.
These were the only two times Lynch felt pressure in a 55-23 victory Saturday over Kansas at Memorial Stadium.
“He’s too good of a player to let sit back there and throw it around all he wants,” KU coach David Beaty said.
