Kansas coach Bill Self is the new president of the National Association of Basketball Coaches, the coaches’ organization founded by Phog Allen.
Self has started a two-year term and oversaw his first Board of Directors meeting earlier this month. He has served on the Board since 2007 and is a current member of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee.
“Bill Self has long been one of the most influential voices in college basketball and is greatly respected among his coaching and administrators,” said NABC Executive Director Jim Haney.
The NABC has nearly 5,000 members throughout the basketball coaching ranks and is based in Kansas City.
