Kansas fans will get a chance to welcome home the gold-medal winning Jayhawks on Wednesday at Hoglund Ballpark.
KU — playing as Team USA — won the World University Games championship after taking an 84-77 double-overtime victory over Germany in the finals Monday.
Doors to KU's baseball stadium will open at 6 p.m. Wednesday, with athletes and coaches expected to arrive at 7 p.m. Coach Bill Self and selected players will address the crowd.
Because of expected high temperatures, spectators will be allowed to bring one unopened bottle of water into the stadium. Water also will be available for purchase.
