LAWRENCE — After a sloppy exhibition opener, Kansas coach Bill Self was most likely left with many questions about his team.
He still had to come away more confident about his squad’s best player.
Senior forward Perry Ellis was his efficient self, scoring 22 points on 8-for-12 shooting in KU’s 89-66 preseason victory over Pitt State on Wednesday night.
Ellis, who was challenged early by Self to pick up his energy, was best in the second half. The Wichita native scored 15 second-half points on 6-for-7 shooting. He also finished the contest with a game-high 12 rebounds.
