Wayne Selden hit one of two free throws with 12.9 seconds left for the game-winning point, lifting the Kansas men's basketball team to a 66-65 victory over Serbia in the World University Games on Tuesday night in Gwangju, South Korea.
With the victory, KU (playing as Team USA) improved to 4-0 and officially advanced itself to the tournament's quarterfinal round.
Selden also came through with KU's biggest shot, draining a deep 3-pointer with 34.8 seconds left to tie the score at 65.
Serbia had three shots to win it on its final possession — two 3-point tries and a 2 — but all were off the mark as KU held on.
