LAWRENCE — The Kansas basketball team is a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
The No. 1-ranked Jayhawks (30-4, 15-3 Big 12) are the top-seeded team in the South Region and, if they make it to the Sweet 16, will play in Louisville, Ky. No. 4 Virginia will be the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region and will play in Chicago if it reaches the third round.
KU rides a 14-game winning streak into the tournament, winning the regular-season Big 12 championship outright by two games and defeating No. 9 West Virginia 81-71 in the finals of the conference tournament on Saturday at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
