AUSTIN, Texas — Kansas clinched the Big 12 outright Saturday, and a big who entered with four points in conference play was no small reason why.
Dwight Coleby, who did not play in nine of the No. 3-ranked Jayhawks’ first 15 conference contests, erupted for 12 points and four rebounds in 13 minutes off the KU bench in a 77-67 victory against scuffling Texas at Frank Erwin Center.
With primary forwards Landen Lucas and Carlton Bragg battling first-half foul trouble, the sparingly used Coleby entered the game for the first time with just under 10 minutes before the break.
