KU baseball upsets No. 2-seeded TCU, 7-3, at Big 12 tourney

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Kansas baseball team has gotten off on the right foot at the Big 12 Tournament.

The No. 7-seeded Jayhawks used a four-run eighth inning to upset No. 2-seeded TCU, 7-3, on Wednesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, advancing to the winners bracket of the double-elimination tournament.

Locked in a 3-all tie and with runners at the corners, KU outfielder Devin Foyle put the Jayhawks on front with an RBI single to right field that scored James Cosentino. David Kyriacou knocked in an RBI with a sacrifice fly three batters later, and with two outs, freshman Brett Vosik drove in a pair with a two-out single to right field that gave KU its final 7-3 margin.
