Jayhawks, picked to finish last in Big 12, alone in fifth place after Sunday split
LAWRENCE — Chilly, soggy and sparsely attended are just a few ways to describe the Kansas baseball team’s series finale Sunday afternoon against Baylor.
Coach Ritch Price describes it another way, though: the most important game the upstart Jayhawks have played to date in a season that continues to defy preseason expectations.
KU defeated Baylor, 6-1, in the second game of a doubleheader at Hoglund Ballpark to earn a split of the day’s two contests, salvage the final game of a rain-drenched series and avoid being swept at home in conference play for the first time this season.
