WACO, Texas — Sheahon Zenger has never seen a discouraging situation bring David Beaty down.
Not when Beaty took over the downtrodden Kansas football program in late 2014. Not when he spiraled to a winless season in his first campaign as Jayhawks coach. And, more recently, not as he’s lost four key assistant coaches from his staff since the turn of the new year — and three in the last two weeks.
Zenger, the KU athletic director, says it simply isn’t in Beaty’s nature.
“I’ve never seen David Beaty disheartened a day in his life,” Zenger told The Capital-Journal before the KU basketball team’s game Tuesday night at Baylor.
