BAYLOR 55, KANSAS 7
WACO, Texas — This Big 12 opener created little buzz going in.
Art Briles was in his third season at Baylor and still building. He had never coached against Kansas ... at least not since his Houston team was drubbed 42-13 by the Jayhawks in the 2005 Fort Worth Bowl.
Yet a shift in fortunes was apparent as the Bears, still playing in Floyd Casey Stadium, walloped the Jayhawks by 48 points, 55-7. The previous time the Jayhawks played Baylor, in 2007, Kansas won 58-10 — a 48-point spread — as part of an Orange Bowl season under Mark Mangino.
