Kevin Haskin: When the smoke clears, will KU’s Carlton Bragg deserve another chance?

Kansas did not need Carlton Bragg to win on the road at Kentucky.

So one conclusion to be drawn is the Jayhawks do not need the troubled sophomore at all.

Bragg has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following the discovery of two glass smoking devices with residue during an investigation into an alleged rape in McCarthy Hall.

The 6-foot-10 forward was suspended indefinitely from the KU basketball team last week for a violation of team rules presumably stemming from the charge — “You guys can add two and two,’’ KU coach Bill Self said Monday — and did not travel with the team to the game at Kentucky.
