Kevin Haskin: Return of Greene raises KU's 3-point proficiency even more

LAWRENCE – If this is fool’s gold, Kansas could make a lot of basketball opponents look foolish.

Bill Self probably regrets the reference to some extent.

Every time the Jayhawks get hot from 3-point range, the offensive comparison he once made to a disappointed panhandler gets mentioned.

Yet the Kansas coach knows what that outside touch means to a team ranked No. 2 and capable Wednesday night of scorching Holy Cross 92-59 in Allen Fieldhouse.

“It’s the best shooting team we’ve had,’’ said Self, “but a lot of time the best-shooting teams don’t translate into the best teams because a lot of people that score easily don’t think they need to guard quite as tough.
