LAWRENCE — It’s 6 a.m., and while much of Lawrence is still sleeping, one Kansas football player is up, changed, and walking toward memorial stadium. He arrives at the football complex a 12 minutes later, beating his teammates by hours.
Junior Laquvionte Gonzalez was as eager as a kid in a candy store according to coach David Beaty. Gonzalez marched to the stadium with Meek Mill’s “Panda” remix bumping in his headphones to get some early stretching in.
This was the first chance Gonzalez had to highlight his signature speed to the public. “Quiv”, as his teammates and coaches call him, was the standout performer in KU’s “spring game” amassing 116 yards on six catches; one good for a 61-yard touchdown.
