The Kansas soccer team accomplished something that has never been done before: win a Big 12 tournament title. It was a huge win for the #21 overall Jayhawks who are on a nine-game win streak, also a first for the program.
The fifth seed Jayhawks started off the tournament against fourth seed West Virginia, beating the Mountaineers by a score of 2-0. After that, Kansas soccer took on the number one seeded Oklahoma State Cowgirls. It took two overtime periods, but the Jayhawks came out on top thanks to a goal by Samantha Barnett.
In the championship game against sixth seed TCU, the Jayhawks once again shutout their opponent winning the title 1-0.
