Kansas junior Michael Tinsley is one of 15 semifinalists for the Johnny Bench Award, given to college baseball’s top catcher by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission.
The award will be given to one of three finalists at the June 30 Sports Commission banquet.
Tinsley is KU’s leading hitter at .386 with two home runs and 40 RBIs. Fellow Big 12 catcher Evan Skoug, a sophomore, is also a finalist.
