Southeast Missouri State didn’t appear to know how to handle the Jayhawks early in the game, as they failed to get a first down before Kansas was already up 14-0. While they stopped the Kansas offense until the very end of the half, they were only able to score after forcing a fumble on a punt return that set up an extremely short field.
