Malik Newman will hire an agent and head to the 2018 NBA Draft, according to multiple sources. Newman’s father has confirmed to KUSports.com and the KC Star that Newman will begin interviewing potential agents this coming weekend.
Newman was a top-10 recruit coming out of high school and a McDonald’s All-American.
Per these reports, KU coach Bill Self agreed with the decision. Self and Newman are both reported as saying that the original plan was to re-evaluate a season after his redshirt transfer year, and with the season - and tournament run - that Kansas and Newman had, now is time for him to pursue playing professionally.
