Kansas football: Special teams the difference in Sunflower Showdown

After their incredible scoring drought, Kansas football fans did not know what to expect from David Beaty’s Jayhawks on Saturday. As a matter of fact, I expected a similar outcome to the previous two shutout weeks. Why would you expect something different?

I give head coach David Beaty credit. He made some changes and the results didn’t provide a victory but did make a difference. The biggest change came at starting quarterback. For several weeks I called for a change at quarterback. Beaty and offense coordinator Doug Meacham gave Carter Stanley his first start of the season Saturday.
