The Kansas Jayhawks laid an egg in the second half against Eastern Illinois Tuesday night but managed to escape with a 71-63 win. After going into the break with a 13 point lead, the Jayhawks couldn’t get anything going on the offensive end and allowed the Panthers to come within 1 point.
Hunter Dickinson lead all scorers with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Kevin McCullar picked up 18 points. KU shot 21% from 3 in the game in contrast to 41% by EIU.
For the Panthers, senior guard Tiger Booker came off the bench to drop 20 points on Kansas.
