Kansas Jayhawks starting senior defensive lineman Andrew Bolton is no longer with the team. A team spokesperson confirmed the news to Matt Tait of the Lawrence Journal-World.
A former junior college standout and three-star recruit out of Clinton High School in Mississippi, near Jackson, Bolton sat out all of 2013 and appeared in 11 games for the Jayhawks last season. Over that stretch, he had 16 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
It’s a rough piece of news for Kansas’ football team, as Bolton was expected to be a key piece of the front seven this season, the team’s first under David Beaty.
