Kansas shot 48.6% (17-35) from behind the arc Friday night in Austin to outscore Texas by a 92-86 final score.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair until the Jayhawks ripped off a 9-point run to take a 25-17 lead with 9:29 remaining in the first half. Texas immediately responded with an eight-point run to tie the game back up. The two teams battled to a 37-34 Kansas margin at the break.
A pair of back-to-back threes by Svi Mykhailiuk early in the second half gave the Jayhawks a 10-point lead at 51-41 with 16:28 to play, and Texas never really threatened after that.
