LAWRENCE — Kansas guard Brannen Greene had successful surgery Thursday to repair a torn labrum in his hip, the team announced in a news release.
“Brannen, his father (Jeffrey) and Bill Cowgill (KU Associated Director of Sports Medicine) traveled to Nashville this week to have hip surgery performed by Dr. (J.W. Thomas) Byrd, one of the most experienced hip surgeons in the United States,” Kansas coach Bill Self said in the release.
“Surgery went very well. Everything went as planned.”
Greene’s surgery was performed by Byrd in Nashville, Tenn.
The extensive recovery will cause Greene to miss the World University Games in July.
