Kansas basketball head coach Bill Self announced last week that Marcus Morris would have his jersey retired in Allen Fieldhouse. Many fans were congratulatory; however, there was a sect that was against Morris receiving the honor.
Morris is more than deserving of having his number and name in the rafters though.
Morris’ accolades as a Jayhawk include:
- Consensus second-team All-American
- Big 12 Player of the Year
- First-team All-Big 12
Marcus and his twin brother Markieff both played three years for Bill Self and the Jayhawks, with both having great careers. Marcus would end up being drafted in the first round with the 14th overall pick.
