Only 13 minutes into Kansas basketball’s game against Villanova, junior guard Marcus Garrett was injured on a drive to the rim. Garrett left the game and didn’t return as the Jayhawks were defeated by the Wildcats 56-55.
Garrett’s value to the Jayhawks can’t be overstated. He’s an elite defender, and his offensive game is starting to develop as well. This season Garrett is averaging over eight points per game and is second on the team in assists per game behind Devon Dotson. Overall, Kansas basketball is 31.8 points per 100 possessions better when Garrett is on the court.
