I just about fell out of my chair when I saw the news on Billy Preston from Kansas basketball Tuesday night. As a matter of fact, we had asked followers of @throughthephog twitter account early Tuesday about Preston’s debut? Maybe it’s my fault. On the other hand, I’m glad Preston didn’t play and the Jayhawks edged Kentucky 65-61 in the Champions Classic.
Remember last spring when some criticized coach Bill Self and Kansas basketball for possibly overlooking some disciplinary issues? I didn’t like the negative news that never seemed to end. Talk radio, television broadcasts and especially a local Kansas City paper kept the negative news alive for Kansas basketball fans.
