Kansas State women’s basketball coach Jeff Mittie liked the direction his team was taking. A victory over No. 16 Oklahoma on Tuesday affirmed that belief.
“A couple of weeks ago when we were in the middle of that road stretch, we were grinding,” Mittie said. “I think a veteran group grinds through that stretch. It’s important that we are ascending at this point in the season and that core group is critical because they set the standard for embracing basketball at this time of year.
“I felt like we were pushing forward but there’s nothing like a good win over a team that’s top 15 or 16 in the country.
