Like so many other recent Sunflower Showdowns, this one didn't feature much for the eastern half of the rivalry to be happy about. From the beginning, Wildcat running back Deuce Vaughn ran rampant on the Jayhawks' defense, and the offense had very little to offer in response.
Kansas was lucky to enter halftime down just 21-3, with KSU averaging close to 11 yards per play, and still selecting to play fairly conservative football. Still, they would tack on another touchdown in the 3rd before the Jayhawks found their way into the endzone. The game would end in a 35-10 route.
