MANHATTAN — Brad Hill didn’t spend much time celebrating his team’s series-clinching victory over in-state rival Kansas on Sunday at Tointon Family Stadium.
With a spot in the Big 12 Tournament still up for grabs, the Kansas State coach instead pivoted to the Wildcats’ pivotal final series of the season against No. 8 TCU.
“Obviously going to TCU is not going to be easy or fun,” Hill said with a laugh. “So, you know, we’ve got to go down there and keep momentum going, try to win another series and see what happens.”
The Wildcats (26-26, 8-13 Big 12) overcame an early four-run deficit to defeat the Jayhawks 8-5 and take a 1 1/2-game lead in the race for the final spot in the Big 12 Tournament.
