LAWRENCE — The Kansas football team has taken some hits the past few years, but it possibly took a big one in the spring game on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
Blue team starting quarterback Michael Cummings went out early in the second quarter after being hit in the left knee on a tackle by White safety Michael Glatczak. And following the Blue’s come-from-behind 20-7 win, which was sparked by two touchdown passes from Montell Cozart, KU coach David Beaty took a moment to contemplate losing a senior quarterback, especially with a depleted roster.
“That’s unfortunate,” Beaty said.
