LAWRENCE — Topeka television station WIBW (13.1) will no longer carry Kansas basketball and football games that are broadcast on Jayhawk Network, as its agreement with KU expired at the beginning of this season.
When KU signed its original contract with Time Warner Cable in 2013, WIBW was grandfathered in and allowed to show KU games until its original contract expired in 2015, according to KU assistant athletic director Jim Marchiony.
This year, following the end of that contract, Time Warner Cable has exclusive rights to the games, which means Topekans will need to subscribe to Cox (and turn to station Cox 22) to watch live games on the Jayhawk Network.
