LAWRENCE — The Kansas football program has a long road back to relevancy, a fact the folks occupying Anderson Family Football Complex readily admit.
In at least one aspect, though, the Jayhawks say they’ve already made big strides in keeping up with the Joneses.
“We just went from the bottom of Power Five to the top of Power Five,” KU coach David Beaty said, “when it comes to what our locker room looks like.”
KU, which opens its second season under Beaty with a 6 p.m. Saturday contest against Rhode Island at Memorial Stadium, permanently relocated its players Sunday night to a newly renovated locker room costing upwards of $2 million, according to the university.
