For the first time in more than a decade, there is palpable excitement surrounding the Kansas football program.
Heading into this upcoming season, the Jayhawks – now in year three under head coach Lance Leipold – return 17 starters from last year’s 6-7 bowl squad, including Preseason Offensive Big 12 Player of the Year Jalon Daniels at quarterback. He and three of his teammates (running back Devin Neal, center Mike Novitsky, and cornerback Cobee Bryant) were also Preseason First Team All-Big 12 selections.
Every assistant returns from last year’s team as well – something that hasn’t happened at Kansas in 20 years.
