KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There’s something to be said for playing fast.
Kansas tried this for much of the first half on Tuesday at Sprint Center, but it didn’t work out too well.
The Jayhawks struggled so much at times that the 10-point deficit they faced appeared insurmountable.
But fueled by strong second-half performances from Wayne Selden and Frank Mason, the Jayhawks, representing the USA National team, rallied past Canada for a 90-83 win.
Mason’s floater in the lane with 3:25 to go gave KU a brief 79-78 lead, but his 3-pointer from the top of the key a minute later put KU up 82-80 and for good.
